University of Galway EcoFoodSystems & LEG4DEV projects provide briefing to Irish Embassy and European Union delegations in Addis Ababa
While in Addis Ababa to run the EcoFoodSystems multistakeholder workshop, the EcoFoodSystems team were delighted to be welcomed by the Embassy of Ireland, Ethiopia to their central office to discuss research and innovation activities taking place in Addis Ababa city region.

Frain (Consul and Second Secretary to the Embassy of Ireland in Ethiopia), Charles Spillane (EcoFoodSystems Principle Investigator), Olivia Leslie (Ambassador)Una, Jemima O’ Farrell (EcoFoodSystems PhD Researcher), Anna Lorente Sebastian (EcoFoodSystems Project Manager), Dawit Chekol (EcoFoodSystems PhD Researcher).
The team extend our thanks to Ambassador Designate of Ireland to Ethiopia, Olivia Leslie, and her team for a warm welcome to Addis and a productive discussion on activities needed for food system transformation in Addis Ababa city region.
The EcoFoodSystems team are excited to progress research and innovation activities in Addis Ababa in the coming months.
