UN General Assembly – 80th Session (UNGA 80)

Member States will convene at UN Headquarters in New York to engage in dialogue and address pressing global challenges. This assembly marks ab opportunity to reaffirm the UN’s founding principles and advance collective efforts toward peace, security, sustainable development, and human rights.
The 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) will open on 9 September 2025, with the High-Level General Debate scheduled to begin on Tuesday, 23 September.

World Food Forum 2025
10–17 October 2025

The World Food Forum (WFF) is the annual flagship event of the FAO. WFF is a global meeting of stakeholders across the food system who engage in dialogue across all areas related to agrifood system transformation.
The 2025 event will take place from 10 to 17 October at the headquarters of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Rome, Italy, and online.

LCA Food international conference 2026
The 15th edition of the LCA Food International Conference will be held from 12 to 15 October 2026 in Montréal, Canada. Established in the mid-1990s, the conference has become a leading global forum for advancing sustainability in food systems, convening biennially and alternating between Europe and other regions of the world.
LCA Food 2026 will bring together experts from academia, industry, and the public sector to share progress in life cycle assessment (LCA) and related methodologies applied to food systems. For the first time, the conference will also include dedicated discussions on food packaging, broadening its scope and relevance in the context of sustainable food production and consumption.

Committee on World Food Security
The Committee on World Food Security (CFS) is an international and intergovernmental conference in the field of food security and nutrition. Representatives from across governments, UN agencies, civil society, indigenous people, financial and research institutions, philanthropic foundations, and the private sector attend to discuss issues on food security and nutrition via a multi-stakeholder and inclusive approach.

39th EFFoST International Conference 2025
The 39th EFFoST International Conference will take place from 17–19 November 2025 in Porto, Portugal, hosted by Universidade Católica Portuguesa – Faculty of Biotechnology.
Under the theme “Fostering the Transition to Sustainable Food Systems: Embracing Novelty and Overcoming Challenges,” the conference will bring together stakeholders from across the food sector to explore innovative solutions, including novel food sources, sustainable processing and packaging technologies, and the digital transformation of food systems. The event aims to support the advancement of sustainable practices and contribute to the development of resilient, health-promoting food systems.

COP30 – UN Climate Change Conference
The 30th edition of the Conference of the Parties (COP 30) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) will take place in Belém, Brazil, from 10 to 21 November 2025. This conference will be attended by representatives from nearly 200 countries, alongside observers from civil society, business, Indigenous communities, and scientific institutions, to advance global efforts in addressing climate change.

2026 United Nations Water Conference
The 2026 United Nations Water Conference, co-hosted by the United Arab Emirates and Senegal, will be held in the UAE from 2 to 4 December 2026. This conference aims to encourage global solidarity and cooperation in addressing critical challenges related to water security. The event will bring together Member States, stakeholders, and experts from around the world to discuss sustainable management of water resources and equitable access to safe and clean water for all.

Second African Climate Summit

The Africa Climate Summit is hosted by the African Union and brings together policymakers, youth, civil society, development partners, and the private sector to discuss climate issues and opportunities in Africa. The African Climate Summit 2 (ACS2) will be hosted by the Government of Ethiopia (GoE) in collaboration with the African Union (AU). ACS2 is themed: ‘Accelerating Global Climate Solutions: Financing for Africa’s resilient and Green Development.’

Tropentag 2025

The annual interdisciplinary conference Tropentag is focused on research in tropical and subtropical agriculture, natural resource management, and rural development. The 2025 conference is being jointly run by the Universities of Berlin, Bonn, Göttingen, Hohenheim, and Kassel-Witzenhausen, ZALF e.V., Ghent University (Belgium), Czech University of Life Sciences Prague, BOKU Vienna, and the Council for Tropical and Subtropical Research, in cooperation with the GIZ Fund for International Agricultural Research.
